Petrit Ajeti was appointed Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency on 15 April 2021 by the President and by the Prime Minister of Kosovo.

Education
Petrit Ajeti was born in Gjilan, on October 11, 1981. He finished elementary school and gymnasium in the field of Mathematics- Nature Sciences in Gjilan.
In 2001 he continued his studies in Military Academy “Skënderbej” in Tirana. He also has a bachelor degree in Politic Sciences from Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”.

Petrit Ajeti was a scholarship holder of EU’s postgraduate program “Young Cell Scheme”, through which he finished his master degree in the field of Master of Arts in Social Responsibility of Corporates at “London Metropolitan” University in the United Kingdom.

Qualifications
Mr. Ajeti has attended several international programs in the framework of professional development in the field of security.
-“Program for Applied Security Studies” at the European center for Security Studies “George C. Marshall” in Germany,
- Certified Program for Defense Management and Military-Civil Relationship and Defense Budgeting at “Naval Postgraduate School” in USA,
- Certified Program “Management of Security Cooperation”, at Institute of Defense for Security Cooperation in the USA,
- Program PRINCE 2 for Project Managing. He is also certified in Management and Operation with hazardous materials and firefighting from Program of Emergency Certification of Defense Emergency Department of USA. Certified Program.

Experience
- Parallel to education, Mr. Ajeti has also been active in the field of security. Over 15 years of work experience in public and private institutions in the field of security.
- From 2003 has worked in different capacities at the Ministry of Defense of Kosovo as Officer for coordination of foreign investments of defense and acting chief of sector for Euro-Atlantic integration.
- From 2007-2010 Mr. Ajeti has worked at the Ministry of Internal Affairs as Senior Officer at the Department for Drafting Internal Security Politics, as well as at the Department for Citizenship, Asylum and Migration. He also has experience at the international field of security as civil contractor for the US army in military bases in Afghanistan and Kosovo.
- Recently Chief of Permanent Secretary’s Cabinet. Key issues that he was involved at include Planning, Programming. Budgeting and executing in the field of defense, Mr. Ajeti was also member of working group inter-institutional group for drafting of First Defense Strategy.

By engaging in these duties Mr. Ajeti had the excellent view in issues that need to be treated by security institutions, including existential threats.
Petrit Ajeti has also experience in other fields, such as: Hired Assistant at Public University ‘Kadri Zeka” in Gjilan (academic year 2015-2016), and Project Manager of a Project financed by European Commission for Establishing of Regional Marketing Center for the East Economic Region.

He is fluent in English. He is married, with three children. Mr. Ajeti is brother of Martyr Alban Ajeti.
